Blue Underground Bringing Lucio Fulci’s ‘The New York Ripper’ Back to Blu-ray with New 4K Scan
Blue Underground has announced a new Blu-ray edition of Lucio Fulci’s gory 1982 shocker The New York Ripper, due for release on June 25, 2019. The set will feature a fresh 4K restoration and will include a Blu-ray, DVD, and soundtrack CD.
The New York Ripper met with some controversy upon its inital release due to its scenes of extreme gore and graphic sexual violence.
The streets of New York City are terrorized when a psychotic killer who quacks like a duck slashes young women to death in some of the most gruesome ways imaginable. It’s up to Lieutenant Fred Williams (Jack Hedley) and Dr. Paul Davis (Paolo Malco) to try and learn the ripper’s motives and stop the killings before he (or she) can claim more victims.
