‘I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu’ Gets April 2019 Release Date

I Spit on Your Grave Deja Vu Still

In 1978, director Meir Zarchi helmed the controversial rape-revenge thriller I Spit on Your Grave. In the film, a young writer named Jennifer Hills (Camille Keaton) retreats to a secluded location in the woods so she can concentrate on authoring her book. Soon after her arrival, Jennifer is assaulted by a group of violent thugs who repeatedly violate her and proceed to destroy her writing. After she recovers physically, Jennifer seeks out her attackers and takes her revenge on the men, one by one, by any means possible.

Forty years later, director Zarchi and star Keaton are reunited for a direct sequel to the 1978 original. I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu also stars Jamie Bernadette as Jennifer Hills’ daughter Christy. This time around, mother and daughter are confronted with an ordeal similar to the one faced by Jennifer four decades ago. Also appearing in the new film are Maria Olsen and Jim Tavare.

Although Deja Vu is a continuation of the original story, it is actually the fifth installment in the franchise which also includes the 2010 remake I Spit on Your Grave and its sequels, I Spit on Your Grave 2 (2013) and I Spit on Your Grave: Vengeance is Mine (2015).

I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu is scheduled for DVD and Blu-ray release on April 23, 2019.
