‘Halloween Kills’ & ‘Halloween Ends’: Michael Myers Will Return in Two New Sequels
Since reports started to come out that the the team behind Blumhouse’s 2018 Halloween reboot might soon begin production on a follow-up to the Michael vs. Laurie showdown, we have been hearing rumors that back-to-back sequels may in fact be in the works for near-simultaneous releases in October 2020. While that may not have been such a great idea from a marketing standpoint, it has now been confirmed that two new installments are indeed underway. However, the films are scheduled to be released a year apart, rather than the rumored October 2020 dates for both features. These will come in the form of Halloween Kills on October 16, 2020 and Halloween Ends on October 15, 2021.
As suspected, Jamie Lee Curtis will return as Laurie Strode and David Gordon Green will be back in the director’s chair for both sequels. More potentially big news is that John Carpenter is expected to provide the score for both films, or at least serve once again as executive producer alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and Malek Akkad.
According to Dread Central, Halloween Kills will be written by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride with the collaboration of Scott Teems, while Halloween Ends will be scribed by Green and McBride, joined by Paul Brad Logan and Chis Bernier.
It is still unknown as to whether James Jude Courtney will be returning as “The Shape”.
