Halloween 2018 Michael Knife

Earlier this week it was revealed by Variety that the character of Tommy Doyle from John Carpenter’s original Halloween would be making a comeback in 2020’s Halloween Kills. This time Tommy will be portrayed by none other than Anthony Michael Hall (The Breakfast Club, National Lampoon’s Vacation, Weird Science). Hall will join Jamie Lee Curtis, who returns once again in the new sequel as Laurie Strode. The part of Tommy was also reportedly offered to Paul Rudd, who played the role once before in 1995’s Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, but Rudd apparently had to decline due to scheduling conflicts.

Today we can confirm, courtesy of an article published by halloweenmovies.com, that Lindsey Wallace will also be appearing in the new film. To add to that, Lindsey will again be played by original Halloween actress Kyle Richards. Tommy and Lindsey are of course the two young children who were babysat by Laurie Strode in the first movie. (You may recall that Lindsey also made a brief appearance, albeit in an alternate timeline, in 1988’s Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, in which the character was portrayed by Leslie L. Rohland.)

Other Halloween Kills developments include confirmation of the involvement of John Carpenter, who will again provide the score and serve as executive producer. Both James Jude Courtney and the original “Shape” Nick Castle will appear as Michael Myers. According to the film’s IMDb page, Judy Greer and Andi Matichak will reprise their Halloween 2018 roles as Karen and Allyson respectively. Also expected to return is Jibrail Nantambu, who “killed” it as Julian in the 2018 film.

Some other potentially big casting news, if the IMDb listing is accurate, is the apparent return of Charles Cyphers as Lee Brackett. There have been some internet rumblings recently about Cyphers possibly appearing in Halloween Kills, so it will be interesting to see if this info is confirmed in the coming days. Brackett was portrayed by Cyphers in Halloween (1978) and Halloween II (1981), and later by Brad Dourif in Rob Zombie’s Halloween (2007) and Halloween II (2009).

Halloween Kills is scheduled for release on October 16, 2020 through Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions. The film will be directed by David Gordon Green from a script by Danny McBride and Scott Teems.
